Job Description

DSP Engineer

Build audio technology that brings better sound to more people. At Bose, we believe sound is the most powerful force on earth. As a DSP Engineer, you’ll help bring that belief to life - developing audio technologies that enable our brands and partners around the world to deliver distinctive listening experiences. If you enjoy exploring how sound works, solving practical engineering problems, and turning algorithms into working technology, this is an opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to audio experiences that reach beyond Bose products.

About the Role You’ll join our engineering team, helping develop signal processing algorithms that can work across a wide range of products and platforms. From noise reduction and voice pickup to spatial audio and speech enhancement, your work will help make audio clearer, more immersive, and more useful. You’ll collaborate with senior DSP engineers, software and platform teams, and external partners to take algorithms from development through integration and testing. Along the way, you’ll learn how to make audio technologies robust, portable, and efficient across different hardware and software environments - with ownership of meaningful technical deliverables.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and experiment. Design, implement, and test DSP algorithms for audio, speech, voice, and microphone array applications.
  • Shape better audio experiences. Contribute to technologies such as active noise reduction, voice pickup, spatial audio, and speech enhancement.
  • Bring algorithms to life. Help integrate and validate signal processing algorithms on embedded, real-time systems.
  • Make technology work across platforms. Partner with senior engineers to adapt and tune algorithms for different hardware, software, and performance constraints.
  • Investigate and improve. Use acoustic measurements, lab equipment, and debugging tools to understand performance and solve problems.
  • Explore and collaborate. Evaluate third-party technologies and work across engineering, systems, software, and product management to support partner delivery and future platform needs.

What You’ll Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with a focus on signal processing.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience in DSP, audio, or embedded systems development.
  • A solid foundation in digital signal processing, with experience applying it to audio or speech.
  • Hands-on experience developing algorithms for embedded or real-time systems.
  • Programming experience using C, Python, and MATLAB to develop, analyze, and test signal processing algorithms.
  • An analytical approach to problem-solving, the initiative to work through technical challenges, and enthusiasm for collaborating with engineers across disciplines.

Experience That Can Help You Stand Out You don’t need experience in every area below. We’re interested in the strengths you bring and what you’re excited to learn.

  • Acoustics and acoustic measurements, including microphones and audio transducers.
  • Embedded system debugging and audio lab equipment.
  • Fixed-point arithmetic or techniques for optimizing DSP implementations.
  • Evaluating and integrating third-party algorithms and libraries.
  • Applied machine learning for noise reduction, speech enhancement, or audio classification.
  • Bluetooth audio systems and their constraints.
  • Adapting algorithms across different platforms and partner implementations.
  • A master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
