Original job description

The Remote Getaway Planner helps clients find short, practical trips that fit within a limited schedule. These may include road trips, beach weekends, city escapes, spa stays, sporting events, concerts, theme parks, festivals, or short cruises.

You will begin by learning how far the client is willing to drive or fly, how many nights are available, what they want to experience, and how much they want to spend.

Instead of searching every possible destination, you will focus on options that make sense for the client's departure location and available time.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients about their dates, departure location, interests, and budget.
  • Research destinations within a practical driving or flying distance.
  • Compare hotels, resorts, short cruises, attractions, and vacation packages.
  • Evaluate travel time before recommending an option.
  • Locate activities that fit the purpose of the getaway.
  • Create simple itineraries without overscheduling the client.
  • Research parking, local transportation, and hotel-location convenience.
  • Explain reservation policies, package inclusions, and deadlines.
  • Assist with completing reservations and reviewing confirmation details.
  • Verify dates, traveler names, accommodations, and transportation information.
  • Prepare concise arrival instructions and trip summaries.
  • Monitor applicable schedule or reservation changes.
  • Maintain organized client records.
  • Follow up with clients and encourage future getaway planning.
  • Participate in continued training and destination education.

Job Requirements

  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  • Candidates must reside in the United States or Mexico.
  • Reliable internet access and a computer or compatible device are required.
  • Strong online research and time-management skills are required.
  • Candidates must understand how travel time affects short vacations.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Candidates must be organized and attentive to reservation details.
  • Candidates must be comfortable discussing budgets and recommending practical alternatives.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Candidates must complete required training.
  • Experience in customer service, hospitality, event planning, or local tourism is helpful but not required.
