Original job description

Who We Are

Bluewater provides equipment, services, and lifecycle solutions surrounding the management of large-format batteries, solar panels, inverters, transformers, and other critical energy infrastructure. We support customers in sourcing critical equipment and replacement components, managing surplus assets, extending equipment lifecycles, and recovering value through resale, reuse, and recycling. Our work spans across utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, power generation, and electric vehicle manufacturing, reducing supply-chain friction and expanding secondary market opportunities for energy equipment.

The Opportunity

Bluewater is seeking a Sales Manager to lead, develop, and manage a team of Account Managers in our Renewable Site Solutions division, while also owning and managing a key set of accounts. This role blends hands-on sales with team leadership and people management. You’ll be accountable for team performance, employee development, and consistent execution across the sales cycle, while helping to scale the broader division. This is more than a managerial role; you’ll support deal strategy, step into complex negotiations, and guide high-value opportunities through to close. Partnering closely with senior leadership, you’ll contribute to sales strategy, operating cadence, and the systems and processes that support organizational growth.

Requirements

What You’ll Own:

  • Own and manage a set of priority customer accounts, directly leading to revenue generation
  • Build long-term relationships with customers in the renewable industry while stepping into complex, high-value, or strategic deals
  • Lead, hire, and develop a high-performing sales team, including training, coaching, and ongoing performance management
  • Drive strategy and lead teams in prospecting, deal structuring, negotiation, and account management best practices
  • Enhance CRM discipline and pipeline accuracy, while collaborating with teams internally to improve operational efficiency
  • Define, track, and report on team goals and KPIs, ensuring strong pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and performance visibility
  • Partner with leadership to refine go-to-market strategy, sales processes, and account ownership
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Compliance, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

  • 6–9+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, including at least 2 years of prior management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated individual success closing complex deals and driving revenue growth
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and manage high-performing sales teams
  • Strong coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable analyzing performance data and using insights to improve outcomes
  • Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Zoho, HubSpot, Salesforce)
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience in renewable energy, sustainability, or circular economy solutions is a plus
  • Enthusiasm towards travel for client meetings, team development, and industry events
