Our Team: The Engagement Management team builds the systems that orchestrate how Bloomberg products and services move from an accepted commercial agreement through fulfillment and ongoing lifecycle management. Our platform sits at the center of Bloomberg’s Quote-to-Bill ecosystem, coordinating business processes across sales, contracting, compliance, delivery, billing, and other downstream domains. We are a full-stack product engineering team. We build user-facing applications, backend services, APIs, workflow orchestration, event-driven integrations, and own the domain models that connect them. Our systems support the creation and management of orders throughout their lifecycle while providing the controls, auditability, and reliability required for critical business processes Is This You: You’re the kind of engineer who wants to own complex business systems end to end. You think deeply about system design, domain modeling, distributed workflows, reliability, and the user experience of the systems you build. When faced with complicated business processes or brittle workflows, you don’t just patch them - you challenge assumptions and architect robust long-term solutions. You enjoy working across the stack and partnering closely with business and engineering stakeholders to turn complex processes into intuitive, reliable software.
We build and evolve systems that provide:
- End-to-end order workflows spanning creation, change, renewal, suspension, and termination
- Full-stack applications that guide users through complex business processes
- Workflow orchestration across independently owned business domains and services
- Reliable APIs, messaging, and asynchronous processing for long-running transactions
- Strong validation, auditability, reconciliation, and operational controls
What’s in it for you: You’ll help design the next generation of Bloomberg’s Enagement Management platform as we modernize critical Quote-to-Bill business processes. This is an opportunity to work on more than an isolated service or UI - you’ll reason about the entire system, from the domain model and workflow architecture through backend services and user-facing experiences. You’ll work on challenging problems involving distributed transactions, asynchronous workflows, evolving business rules, failure recovery, and coordination across multiple systems of record. You will have significant influence over both the technical architecture and how users interact with these processes. As a senior engineer, you’ll partner directly with engineering teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to understand complicated workflows, establish clear domain boundaries, and turn those requirements into scalable and maintainable systems.
We’ll trust you to:
- Design and evolve the Engagement Management domain model as Bloomberg modernizes its Quote-to-Bill architecture
- Build full-stack workflows spanning user interfaces, APIs, backend services, and asynchronous processing
- Architect resilient orchestration for long-running business processes that cross multiple systems and organizational boundaries
- Design APIs and event-driven integrations that allow Engagement Management to coordinate effectively with contracting, compliance, billing, delivery, and other domains
- Build robust validation, reconciliation, audit, retry, and failure-recovery mechanisms for critical workflows
- Simplify complex business processes and translate them into clear system boundaries and intuitive user experiences
- Establish strong engineering and operational practices through observability, testing, SLOs, and production ownership
- Influence long-term architectural direction while delivering incremental improvements to existing systems
We'll expect you to be:
- An owner of the product - you take responsibility for the system from user experience and domain design through production operation.
- A strong systems thinker - you can reason across services, data models, workflows, APIs, and user experiences rather than optimizing one component in isolation.
- A collaborative engineer - you work closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to understand complex processes and design solutions that teams can adopt.
- Comfortable with ambiguity - you can turn evolving business requirements into explicit models, boundaries, and technical decisions.
- Proactive - you identify architectural weaknesses, challenge unnecessary complexity, and help shape the long-term direction of the platform.
You'll need to have:
- 4+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and releasing high-quality software in Python, C++, C#, and/or TypeScript/JavaScript
- Strong system-design fundamentals and experience building production software across multiple components or services
- Experience with data modeling, API design, and distributed or asynchronous systems
- Ability to reason about complex business workflows and translate them into maintainable software abstractions
- A high standard for software maturity, resiliency, testing, and operational excellence
- A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience
We’d love to see:
- Experience building workflow, transaction-processing, order-management, or other business-process platforms
- Experience working across both frontend and backend systems
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, message brokers, and asynchronous processing
- Experience with technologies such as RabbitMQ, relational databases, REST or GraphQL APIs, and workflow-orchestration platforms
- Experience designing systems that coordinate across multiple services or domains while handling partial failures and recovery
- Demonstrated interest in domain-driven design and simplifying complex business processes
