Original job description

🌍 Boston (in office 3 days/ week) 🤝 Product and Engineering 💚 Reporting to one of our engineering managers

We're not just closing the digital divide; we're reconnecting distributed organisations, enabling seamless communication, and re-engaging employees like never before. Blink, a mobile-first employee experience platform, puts everything employees need right in their hands. With teams in Boston, London, and Sydney, we're making waves worldwide, partnering with industry leaders like Domino's, JD Sports and McDonald's. We're growing our engineering squad dedicated to accelerating Blink's growth in the United States. The US is a key market for us, and this team will play a direct role in building the products and integrations that meet the needs of US customers - including core integrations with partners such as Workday. You'll work with a high degree of ownership, delivering outcomes end to end. The squad runs its own roadmap while staying aligned with other engineering squads on shared initiatives and technical direction.

Role Overview We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer with strong React Native experience to join a team of talented engineers building the future of the digital workplace. Our product is highly secure, highly available, performant and beautifully designed. Day to day, you'll:

Help people do their best work by building thoughtful, intuitive web and mobile experiences, enhanced by AI tools that make everyday tasks simpler.
Work closely with product and UI/UX designers to turn user needs into intuitive experiences that bring our diverse products and workflows together seamlessly.
Debug, fix and improve application performance.
Produce clean, well-documented, maintainable code while rapidly iterating and shipping.

What We're Looking For You're ambitious and want to grow in a fast-moving company: resourceful, inquisitive, a fast learner who picks up new concepts quickly and empathises with customer pain points. You're proactive, happy to push boundaries, and work well both independently and as part of a team. Specifically, you'll bring:

Mobile & full-stack development: Extensive experience with TypeScript across React Native, React, and backend technologies (we use Java + Scala), plus SQL - designing, developing and maintaining full-stack features, mobile experiences and seamless integrations with external systems.
Backend depth: Proficiency in a statically-typed, JVM-based backend language such as Scala or Java.
Architecture: Detailed knowledge of architectural patterns and how to apply them.
UI craft: Skill in writing responsive, accessible and maintainable UI components.
Quality: A proven track record of clean, testable, maintainable code, and experience with unit and integration testing, CI and CD. You consistently level up the codebase.
Embraced AI-powered development lifecycle: Comfortably integrate AI tools into your development workflow to improve productivity, accelerate delivery, and maintain high standards of code quality.
Problem-solving & scalability: The ability to build scalable, durable features in high-availability environments.
Ambition & drive: A self-starter with a growth mindset, eager to take on tough challenges and contribute meaningfully to the team and company.
Adaptability & communication: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Grafana and other monitoring tools.

💚 Why Blink? You will have the opportunity to be part of something impactful, large-scale, and meaningful. Most importantly, you’ll work for a company with a strong purpose, with an ambitious and supportive team embarking on a journey most start-ups can only dream of!

Benefits include:

A competitive salary.
Generous equity allocations with significant upside potential.
20 day's leave + public holidays.
401(k) A generous plan to help you save for a bright future.
Private health insurance- we'll pay for your medical, dental, and vision coverage.
Enhanced parental leave.
Additional time off between Christmas and New Year.
The ability for you to grow, learn and solve a variety of challenges, working in a supportive environment with smart, talented people.
Social events (lunches, breakfasts, nights out).

At Blink, we're committed to creating an inclusive and diverse culture where our people feel they truly belong. We value and respect individual differences, so all applications will receive fair and equal consideration without regard to ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, nationality, disability, age or veteran status.
