Chemical Operator Shift Supervisor

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to provide hands-on leadership and oversee daily plant operations at our Seville, Ohio facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chemical plant operator or production supervisor who enjoys leading teams, troubleshooting process equipment, and ensuring safe and efficient manufacturing operations. Position Summary The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant during assigned shifts. This position provides direct leadership to plant operators, oversees production activities, monitors equipment performance, and ensures compliance with safety procedures, operating standards, and regulatory requirements. As the primary decision-maker during the assigned shift, the Shift Supervisor coordinates operational activities, responds to equipment and process issues, and works closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production Management to maintain safe and continuous operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to developing a high-performing, safety-focused team. Key Responsibilities Plant Operations & Production - Direct and oversee daily plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production. - Coordinate shift activities, staffing, and production priorities to meet operational goals. - Monitor and control plant processes using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and other plant instrumentation. - Oversee the operation of pumps, tanks, agitators, valves, and associated chemical processing equipment. - Coordinate plant startups, shutdowns, and operational adjustments with Engineering and Production Management. - Identify process deviations, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement corrective actions. - Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, equipment reliability, and process stability. - Ensure accurate and timely completion of shift reports, production records, operating logs, and shift handovers.
