Piping Designer

Piping Designer Contract to Hire Up to 10% travel required Description: Design the latest state-of-the-art facilities in a wide variety of markets such as industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, solid waste, power, and public sector. Responsibilities: 1. Coordinate with mechanical engineer to develop general arrangements, P&IDs, interconnecting piping, HVAC system, plumbing, and fire protection system drawings 2. Evaluate and resolve problems by reviewing multiple sources of information 3. Coordinate design criteria with other disciplines 4. Develop mechanical material take-offs 5. Provide quality oversight for mechanical designs performed by others 6. Act as point of contact for the mechanical discipline when meeting with the project manager, other discipline leads, and the customer 7. Generate hourly estimates to complete ongoing work and for new proposals 8. Track work progress though scope, schedule and budget Qualifications 1. Technical school / Associate degree or related experience 2. 4+ years experience designing industrial and manufacturing projects 3. Demonstrated proficiency using AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam and Revit 4. Microsoft Suite including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel 5. Written and verbal communication skill 6. Possess an understanding of HVAC and fire protection systems
