Original job description

Blackpoint Cyber is the leading provider of world-class cybersecurity threat hunting, detection and remediation technology. Founded by former National Security Agency (NSA) cyber operations experts who applied their learnings to bring national security-grade technology solutions to commercial customers around the world, Blackpoint Cyber is in hyper-growth mode, fueled by a recent $190m series C round.

The Sales Engineering team at Blackpoint plays a critical role in the sales process, providing the deep technical expertise and guidance that help partners choose the right solution. As a Sales Engineer, you will work directly with partners to demonstrate how our innovative cybersecurity solutions align with their needs and meaningfully strengthen their security posture.

Joining Blackpoint means contributing to how businesses defend themselves against evolving threats, in a collaborative, high-energy environment where your expertise is valued and your impact is visible.

What You’ll Do

Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in cybersecurity and Blackpoint’s product portfolio, clearly articulating our unique value compared to other solutions.
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Support teams to bridge the technical gap between Blackpoint and its customers.
Lead demos and trials that showcase Blackpoint’s core value, uncover customer pain points, and deliver technical discovery, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable insights that move deals forward.
Present webinars and deliver presentations to audiences of varying sizes to evangelize Blackpoint, highlight differentiators, and educate partners on our capabilities.
Apply knowledge of security and compliance frameworks to help customers meet their security and compliance goals.
Provide customer-driven insights to Product and Engineering to support roadmap alignment and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring

4+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Pre-Sales, or similar client-facing technical roles, ideally within the MSP or SMB space.
Experience with cybersecurity technologies such as endpoint and network security (EDR, MDR, antivirus, IDS/IPS, firewalls), networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP), Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows administration.
Strong familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (NIST, CIS, CMMC, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
Experience with SaaS platforms and working with Managed Service Providers (MSPs), especially in cybersecurity contexts.
Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer engagements independently.

Travel

This role includes regular travel (approximately 30%) for client meetings, partner visits, and participation in industry events and trade shows.

Blackpoint Cyber welcomes and encourages applications from qualified individuals of all races, colors, religions, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, marital status, or any other legally protected status. We are committed to equality of opportunity in all aspects of employment.

For eligible employees in the US, Blackpoint offers competitive Health, Vision, Dental, and Life Insurance plans, a robust 401k plan, Discretionary Time Off, and other minor perks. International employees receive competitive benefits in accordance with local market standards and applicable country requirements.

Blackpoint believes all employees should share in the company’s success – equity participation is available to employees globally, with program details varying by location and employment structure.
