The Senior Automation Engineer will be part of a team that develops and deploys the process control system, automation, and date historian for the three new piloting facilities. The Senior Automation Engineer will bring value by applying real world experience to the design, construction, commissioning, and startup of these piloting facilities working in conjunction with world-class engineering and design consultants and pilot facility technical team. This person will contribute to operating and improving these assets to enable domestic companies to successfully run pilot scale trials and begin production of their innovative products.
This position will design and deliver a national network of pilot-scale facilities that are currently under construction. Based on a deep understanding of industrial processing, the Senior Automation Engineer will collaborate to identify process control and data system needs and convert them into robust control strategies and data historian systems that meet customer’s expectations.
This position may develop or review instrument datasheets, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and other technical documentations to achieve effective design of utility systems and process equipment. As the facilities come online, this position will be a key contributor within the Operational Technology (OT) area for installation, check out, commissioning and operation of the facilities through their expertise. This position may evaluate a customer’s technology transfer package for deploying new control loops, particularly for any processing skid brought into the piloting facility from an external company. This position may be involved in development of the long-term capital investment strategy for the pilot plant network as we upgrade our control and data management systems.
