Innovate with purpose

At BILL, we believe in empowering the businesses that drive our economy. By replacing outdated financial processes with innovative tools, we help businesses - from startups to established brands - make smarter decisions and gain control of their operations. And we don’t stop there: we’re creating the future of financial automation so businesses can spend more time on what matters.

Working here means you become part of a vision-driven team that’s ready to tackle challenges and build cutting-edge solutions. We value purpose, drive, and curiosity - and we thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. We're remote-first, with office spaces in San Jose, CA and Draper, UT - and opportunities to connect in person when it counts. BILLders collaborate to deliver real impact for businesses that need more time in their busy weeks.

BILL builds high performing teams and we seek to hire the best talent for every role. We're committed to building a workplace that fosters inclusion and diverse perspectives, valuing each person’s unique skills and experiences. We’d love to hear from you - you might be just what we’re looking for, whether in this role or another.

✨ Let’s give businesses more time for what matters.

At BILL, we're automating the future of finance. As a Finance Manager on the FP&A team, you will partner with business leaders to manage and execute on the financial plan across the company. You will be accountable for getting the numbers right, from forecasting and planning to accruals and month-end close, and for helping leaders optimize resourcing.

This role pairs strong accounting fundamentals with sharp business judgment. You will work closely with Accounting, Procurement, and department heads, and you will use AI tools to remove manual work from our finance processes so more of your time goes to analysis and advice.

Make your impact at a leading Fintech Company

  • Business Partnering: Serve as the finance counterpart to department leaders. Build trust, challenge assumptions constructively, and translate financial results into decisions on headcount, vendors, and investment priorities.
  • Executive Reporting: Prepare clear, accurate expense reporting and talking points for the CFO and senior leaders. Keep it short, lead with the takeaway, and recommend next steps.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Run the annual budget and quarterly forecast cycles for your areas. Convert business plans into well supported expense forecasts and keep them current as conditions change.
  • Expense Management: Own operating expense planning, forecasting, and variance analysis for your assigned organizations. Track spend against budget, flag risks and opportunities early, and recommend actions.
  • Month-End Close and Accruals: Lead the FP&A side of the monthly close. Prepare and review accruals, prepaids, and reclasses; partner with Accounting to ensure expenses are recorded accurately and on time; and explain budget vs. actual variances with clear, concise commentary.
  • Process Improvement with AI: Identify manual, repetitive steps in accrual, reporting, and forecasting workflows and redesign them using AI tools and automation. Build repeatable processes, document them, and share what works with the broader team.
  • Vendor and Spend Insights: Analyze vendor and category spend, contract commitments, and run-rate trends. Support savings initiatives and business cases with Procurement and budget owners.

We are looking for someone who is

  • A Reliable Owner: You deliver on close deadlines, tie out your work, and handle details without being chased.
  • A Partner, Not a Scorekeeper: You build credibility with leaders at every level. You listen well, communicate clearly, and can say no or push back while keeping the relationship strong.
  • Grounded in Accounting: You understand how expenses flow from the ledger to the P&L. You are comfortable with accruals, prepaids, capitalization, and opex vs. capex, and you know when a number does not look right.
  • AI Forward: You actively look for ways to apply AI tools to finance work, test them with good judgment, and validate the output before it reaches a decision maker.
  • Data Fluent: You are advanced in Excel and comfortable pulling data from ERP and planning systems to find the signal in the noise.

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • Experience: 5 to 8+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting, with hands on month-end close experience. High growth SaaS or fintech experience preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CPA or MBA is a plus.
  • Strong accounting fundamentals, including accruals, prepaids, and expense recognition, with the ability to manage them through the close.
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence senior business leaders.
  • Experience using AI tools (for example, Claude or similar) to automate analysis, reporting, or other finance workflows.
  • Working knowledge of ERP and planning systems (for example, NetSuite and Adaptive Planning) and advanced Excel.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to distill complex results into a concise recommendation.
