Position Summary:
The Short Order Cook - Restaurant Manager oversees all daily operations of a fast-paced pizza restaurant while preparing menu items to order. This role combines hands-on cooking duties with leadership and managerial responsibilities to ensure high-quality food, excellent customer service, and efficient business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare pizzas and short-order menu items quickly, accurately, and consistently.
- Manage daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain inventory of food, supplies, and equipment; place orders as necessary.
- Train, schedule, and supervise kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service; address customer concerns and requests professionally.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation.
- Oversee cash handling procedures, daily sales reporting, and basic financial management tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dining area, and storage spaces.
- Collaborate with ownership to implement promotions, menu updates, and operational improvements.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a cook, preferably in a pizza kitchen or short-order environment.
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and calmly in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
