Processing Services Technician

Summary:

The Processing Technician coordinates and collaborates with the overall cleaning decontamination assembly and dispensing of surgical instruments equipment and supplies needed for the daily surgical procedures in surgery and related departments in accordance with the standards of practice and the policies of the hospital and department.

Education:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of Sterile Processing and Distribution Training OR equivalent 2 years’ experience in lieu of formal training program. Eligible for certification.

Certification:

• Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Central Sterile certification through SPD Technician (CSPDT) through the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD). Certification within 1 year of hire
