Work Details Full-time FTE: 1.0 - 40hrs. per week Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs registration and pre-registration functions for in-patients out-patients and emergency department patients to ensure the integrity of the financial data gathered customer satisfaction and to support quality patient care. Collects monies due verifies insurance and performs financial screening to support positive collections and optimal reimbursements. Cross-trains as required for other patient access areas. Enhances the hospital’s public image by direct efforts towards increasing patient satisfaction. Responsible for duties in support of departmental efficiencies which may include but not limited to obtaining and verifying authorizations performing scheduling registration medical necessity point of service collections and any other duties as directed by Management. The job requires an adherence to Governmental regulations as well as Broward Health policies and procedures as they relate to HIPPA EMTALA compliance patient identity meaningful use privacy patients’ rights and responsibilities price transparency medical necessities and determining the correct payor for each patient visit. The role is also responsible for but not limited to collecting patient’s address insurance telephone number preferred language ethnicity religion gender preference email pharmacy to support the integrity of the revenue cycle and the financial viability of Broward Health.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education (or equivalent years of experience):

Required for consideration:

• High school graduation or equivalent.

B. Experience (or equivalent education): Some working knowledge of patient registration patient accounting knowledge of CPT and ICD 10 medical terminology preferred but not required. C. Certification

Preferred Certifications:

· CHAA or CHAM certification preferred but not required. D. Special Training

Required for consideration:
