As an independent commercial solutions partner to pharmaceutical and life science companies, we bring together strategists, scientists, communicators, creatives, technologists, and data experts to tackle some of healthcare's most important challenges.

Our teams work across consulting and communications to help clients shape strategy, launch innovations, engage stakeholders, and drive meaningful results throughout the product lifecycle. The work is complex, fast-moving, and deeply connected to improving lives, creating opportunities for curious minds to make a real difference every day.

If you're energized by collaboration, inspired by innovation, and motivated by work that matters, you'll find a place to grow, contribute, and make a meaningful impact at BGBx.

Position Overview

The Senior Director, Learning & Development, reporting to the Chief People Officer, will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive learning and development strategy across BGBx, including both Communications and Consulting. This individual will assess organizational capability needs, design scalable learning solutions, and implement programs that strengthen employee performance, leadership effectiveness, career growth, and business impact. This role will have one direct report.

The Senior Director will serve as a strategic partner to leaders across the organization, translating business priorities into meaningful development opportunities for employees at every level. This role will oversee the full learning lifecycle, including needs assessment, program design, delivery, measurement, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a strategic, collaborative, and hands-on learning professional who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and build programs that reflect the unique needs of a diverse healthcare commercial solutions organization.

This is an opportunity to establish and advance an enterprise-wide learning culture that supports the growth of BGBx talent, strengthens organizational capabilities, and enables teams to deliver exceptional work for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to leaders and employees on development planning, career growth, and organizational capability.

Program Design and Delivery

  • Design and implement scalable learning programs for employees at all levels, including onboarding, functional development, leadership development, manager enablement, and career growth.
  • Partner with functional leaders to create role-specific development programs across areas such as Account Services, Strategy, Consulting, Creative, Innovation, Project Management, Operations, and corporate functions.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive learning curriculum and career pathways that blend instructor-led training, workshops, coaching, peer learning, digital resources, and experiential development.
  • Ensure learning programs are inclusive, accessible, relevant, and aligned with BGBx’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Leadership and Manager Development

  • Build and enhance leadership development programs that strengthen the capabilities of current and emerging leaders and establish frameworks and programs that support manager effectiveness, coaching, feedback, performance management and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with People team partners on talent reviews, succession planning, performance management, employee engagement, career architecture, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Communicate learning strategies, programs, and resources effectively across the organization to drive awareness, participation, and adoption.

Measurement, Operations and Team

  • Establish meaningful metrics and reporting to measure program participation, learner engagement, skill development, behavior change, and business impact and use feedback and data to continuously improve learning programs.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage external learning vendors, facilitators, consultants, and technology partners as needed and oversee learning platforms content libraries, and other development tools.
  • Manage the learning and development budget, resources, timelines, and program priorities.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, talent development, organizational effectiveness, or a related field, with experience leading enterprise-wide programs across multiple business units or functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success designing and delivering leadership development, manager enablement, onboarding, and functional learning programs, with a strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, facilitation, coaching, and blended learning methodologies.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, advertising, marketing, consulting, or other professional services.
  • Proven ability to translate business priorities into practical, scalable, and engaging learning solutions.

  • Strong knowledge of talent management practices, including performance management, career development, succession planning, and employee engagement.
  • Experience selecting, implementing, and managing learning management systems, learning platforms, digital content, and external development partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish learning metrics, analyze program effectiveness, and communicate insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, presentation, project management, and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative and inclusive approach.
