Homebound Tutor

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide temporary homebound tutoring for a student unable to attend school due to medical or other qualifying reason. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and a passion for helping students achieve their academic goals in a one-on-one setting. This role requires adaptability, patience, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized lesson plans tailored to the student's educational requirements and learning style.
• Provide instruction in various subjects, ensuring alignment with the student’s current curriculum and academic goals.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and their families.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff to discuss student progress and any concerns.
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and motivation.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning abilities and preferences.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
• Assist students with homework and projects, ensuring they understand the material and concepts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education with Special Education endorsement
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience, particularly with homebound or special needs students, is a plus.
• Strong understanding of educational principles and curriculum standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and families.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Familiarity with various teaching methods and learning styles.
• Reliable transportation to travel to students’ homes.
• Background check clearance as required by local regulations.
• Availability for flexible scheduling to accommodate students' needs.
