Position Summary:
The Mentoring Program Coordinator role is a shared role between Partners For Change and the Bellevue Independent School District.
This role is focused on developing and overseeing a comprehensive school-based mentoring program in the participating district aligned to the mentoring framework established by Partners For Change. By integrating mentoring into the school's broader student success initiatives, the position supports district priorities related to attendance, student engagement, social-emotional development, family engagement, and postsecondary readiness while cultivating meaningful partnerships with volunteers and community organizations.
The Mentoring Program Coordinator will collaborate with school leadership and multidisciplinary teams to identify student needs, coordinate mentoring services, leverage community resources, and monitor program outcomes.
Through strategic partnerships, data-informed decision-making, and volunteer engagement, this position helps remove barriers to student success while advancing the school's goals for attendance, behavior, engagement, and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and coordination of mentoring programs across the partnering school district in alignment with Partners for Change processes and procedures
- Promote the mentoring program throughout the community by participating in networking, recruitment, and business engagement events, including occasional evening and weekend events as needed.
- Recruit, train, and support mentors in alignment with Partners for Change and school district expectations.
- Establish clear mentoring structures, including matching processes, meeting expectations, and progress monitoring.
- Ensure mentoring programs are aligned with student needs and school priorities.
- Track mentor/mentee engagement and outcomes using data to help assess impact, identify trends, support continuous improvement, and inform program reporting.
- Provide support to mentoring relationships, both student and mentor, to ensure safe and engaged matches.
- Engage regularly with mentoring programs and coordinators across the region to share best practices, align program standards, and support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with school leadership to align mentoring with school improvement goals and student needs.
- Partner with families, the FRYSC, the district McKinney-Vento Director, community agencies, and local organizations.
- Use school data to identify students, participate in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), attendance, and student support meetings.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, or a closely related field.
Ability to travel locally between partner school districts, program sites, and community locations as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with school districts, community partners, families, and other stakeholders.
- Encourage positive youth development through strengths-based practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across diverse audiences.
- Experience working with school-aged youth and families, preferably in school-based, out-of-school time, mentoring, or community-based settings.
- Strong relationship-building, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to navigate multiple communities, partnerships, priorities, and stakeholder needs simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using technology to support communication, documentation, data tracking, and program coordination, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
