Project Overview:

Bechtel Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) is an exciting and growing business that serves the increasing demand of EPC services for customers in the semiconductor (manufacturing facilities and supply chain); data center, electric vehicle (batteries, charging infrastructure, and production); and life sciences markets.

M&T strives to exceed our customer objectives through utilizing our agility, innovative technologies, and world class talent. M&T will solve the industries toughest challenges, building both our company and the world for the future.

We are looking for talented people to join our team that are passionate about making a difference and contributing to historical projects that will have a lasting impact on society.

Job Summary:

The Ultrapure Water (UPW) Commissioning and Startup (CSU) Engineer supports the start-up, testing, and troubleshooting of ultrapure water systems serving a semiconductor manufacturing facility. Working under the direction of senior CSU engineers, you will assist with commissioning activities from construction completion through system handover to operations while receiving on-the-job training and mentoring.

The role helps verify that systems are installed correctly, meet design requirements, operate safely, and are ready for operations. This position works closely with engineering, construction, vendors, subcontractors, and operations teams.

The ideal candidate will possess the following leadership behaviors aligned with Bechtel's Behavioral Framework:

Accountable: Takes accountability for making their own decisions linked to their own deliverables. Involves senior members to discuss their plan of action and key decisions at the right time.

Collaborate: Actively seeks out others' opinions and input and is open-minded to their views. Challenges others appropriately and is also open to being challenged on their own views.

Communicate: Is effective at adapting their communication style appropriately to their audience, providing context and using the right tone and level of information.

Customer Focus: Prioritizes customer needs and puts these at the forefront of all interactions. Ensures that others within their team maintain this same approach.

Deliver: Demonstrates making well-thought-out, timely decisions and prioritization that leads to successful outcomes. Includes the right people at the right time.

Problem Solve: Accurately assesses a situation to find the best solution or way of working in order to resolve issues. Is focused on creating a long-term fix rather than a short-term solution.

Role Model: Contributes to the Bechtel culture by inspiring and motivating others through their positive approach and attitude. Comes to work determined to do a good job for themselves and their team.

Adaptability: Willingness to learn ultrapure water systems, how they interact with other facility utilities, and how to troubleshoot them.

Compliance: Ensures all company processes and procedures, regulatory requirements, and environmental safety standards are adhered to during the execution of work.

Major Responsibilities:

Safety and Compliance
Follow and support lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Participate in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) reviews.
Follow project EHS requirements, including safe chemical handling during cleaning and sanitization.
Promote a zero-incident safety culture.
Typical Deliverables Supported:

Water Quality Test Reports
Commissioning Reports
Punch List Reports

Education and Experience Requirements:

1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Basic ability to read P&IDs, drawings, and equipment data sheets, or willingness to learn.
Basic understanding of pumps, tanks, valves, filters, and piping systems; exposure to water treatment equipment such as reverse osmosis or filtration is a plus.
