Project Overview:

Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. M&T is an exciting and growing business unit that serves customers in the semiconductor, data centre, life sciences, and electric vehicle markets. Job Summary:

In this role, you will participate in the planning, staffing, and budgeting of project expediting operations. You will distribute workload, monitor assignments, evaluate production schedules and progress, and develop procedures. You will contact suppliers, initiate follow-up, monitor quality, and prepare supplier evaluations. Your planning and problem solving will ensure expediting operations meet project needs.

Major Responsibilities:

• Reports to and receives operational direction from the OSM Project Manager and Delivery Manager Lead.
• Provides direction to geographically assigned personnel supporting Project Procurement Management, Delivery Managers, Engineering, Project Controls, Construction, Area Expeditors, Supplier Quality, and other project disciplines.
• Promotes process standardization, collaboration, and a shared understanding of project objectives and plans.
• Maintains effective working relationships with assigned team members to ensure project requirements and established objectives are met.
• Provides guidance in identifying and resolving supplier manufacturing and delivery issues.
• Collaborates with Supplier Management to address operational issues that could affect scheduled delivery dates.
• Reports supplier performance to Acquisition Services and Project Management.
• Prepares management reports on the status and performance of key supplier fabrication activities.
• Supports the Project Acquisition Services Manager by preparing fabrication and completion forecasts based on project scope and schedule.
• Provides weekly and monthly progress reporting on commercial and technical issues, including associated mitigation actions.
• Maintains regular communication with suppliers and monitors supply chain performance, including sub-suppliers and subcontractors.
• Advises Procurement Management of potential supplier, fabrication, or delivery concerns.
• Ensures project information is current and accurate in the Supplier Performance Database (SPD) and Digital Supply Chain (DSC) databases.
• Represents the project in meetings involving Bechtel, customers, and supplier personnel.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school and 13+ years of progressive professional experience. In lieu of degree, must have 19+ years of progressive professional experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Possesses specialized experience, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable work experience.
• Completes tasks in an ingenious, effective and moderately complex way.
• Works on difficult assignments that require judgment and initiative.
• Understands the implications of the work and makes recommendations for solutions.
• Minimal supervision with considerable leeway for judgment.
• Complete difficult assignments without assistance.
• You can mentor less experienced team members and assist supervisors.
• Knowledge of Excel and Word. Platform: EBS ETA (Bechtel BSAP Platform that every activator must use).
• It does not require specific certification, you must have a minimum of a 2-year academic degree, with administrative skills, and basic knowledge of industrial equipment related to the mining sector.
• English management: Basic or Technical English.

• Minimum Qualifications: General knowledge in techniques of fabrication, manufacturing, testing and delivery of materials and equipment. Working familiarity with engineering, planning and scheduling, construction, and procurement practices and an understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures. Knowledge of major suppliers of equipment and materials used on projects. Effective commercial awareness of purchase order terms. Effective communicator and coordinator.

Preferred Qualifications: Technical/engineering with experience in fabrication/manufacturing emphasis on mechanical (ASME 31.3) and structural (AISC). Module, preservation, and turnover experience preferred.
