The position leads integration of Mechanical, Electrical, and Piping (MEP) systems, commissioning and turnover requirements, site logistics, permitting, utility coordination, and early works into design and execution planning. Coordinates multidisciplinary reviews, identifies and helps resolve execution risks, and develops practical strategies that support safe, efficient, and predictable project delivery from concept development through construction, systems completion, startup, and facility handover.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead multidisciplinary constructability reviews for Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, utility, and mission-critical systems; coordinate construction input into engineering deliverables, procurement packages, execution plans, and design development from concept through issued-for-construction.
  • Identify and coordinate resolution of design, installation, access, sequencing, operability, maintainability, and interdisciplinary concerns; maintain constructability action logs, lessons learned, decisions, and implementation status.
  • Coordinate MEP execution strategies with Construction, CSU, Operations, and Client requirements, including systemization, turnover boundaries, completion plans, commissioning sequencing, and Division of Responsibility matrices.
  • Ensure testing, energization, flushing, balancing, startup, maintainability, accessibility, and long-term reliability requirements are incorporated into engineering, procurement, construction, and turnover planning.
  • Coordinate BIM-enabled constructability reviews and provide construction input on equipment layouts, modularization, prefabrication, installation sequencing, value engineering, and design optimization opportunities that improve safety, schedule, and cost certainty.
  • Serve as a primary preconstruction interface with Client engineering, operations, commissioning, and project teams; facilitate workshops for operational readiness, turnover planning, startup sequencing, training, and facility handover.
  • Coordinate with municipalities, AHJs, fire authorities, licensing agencies, and utility providers regarding permits, inspections, testing, certifications, occupancy requirements, and temporary and permanent utility services; integrate requirements into project plans and schedules.

  • Support Advanced Work Packaging, workface planning, and execution-readiness activities by defining design, procurement, mobilization, construction, systems completion, and commissioning readiness criteria and tracking constraints that affect planned work.
  • Lead constructability-based risk reviews and mitigation planning; identify design, procurement, interface, permitting, logistics, startup, safety, quality, and schedule risks, communicate required actions, and support resolution to improve productivity, turnover performance, and schedule certainty.
