Original job description
Overview
Do you love digging into data as much as digging into your next meal? Baldor Specialty Foods needs you. An industry leader in distributing food to restaurants and retail, Baldor continues to grow at a rapid pace, and is seeking a full-time Senior Analyst, Marketing & Growth to connect digital behavior to customer and transactional data to identify opportunities for measurable revenue growth.
Embedded within Marketing and reporting to Commercial Analytics, you’ll bring together multiple data sources to give us a fuller picture of how customers discover, engage with, and purchase from Baldor. Your work will help us identify which marketing tactics are most effective and where we have opportunity to optimize. You should be able to start with a customer’s channel of entry, follow the ecommerce behavior in Google Analytics and/or Amplitude, track that customer or cohort into Power BI, connect it to actual transactions, and explain what happened to conversion, basket size, retention, and revenue. You’ll help determine what we should be measuring across our digital and offline marketing experiences, make sure we can measure it accurately, and then turn that data into insights people can actually use.
You will measure the performance of various paid and organic campaigns and channels. You will use segmentation and cohort analysis as well as purchase journey and cart analytics to identify lost or potential revenue and ways to capture it. You will look at our customer acquisition campaigns to determine channel effectiveness. You will review offline marketing activities such as events to determine ROI. And you will report on trade marketing programs to demonstrate impact to our supplier partners. In addition, you will be tasked with some market research, including first-party surveys and third-party data sources.
This isn’t a role for someone who simply reports numbers. We need someone who gets curious about them. Which marketing activities actually resulted in new customers? Which behaviors signal that a customer could be buying more? And where might we be leaving revenue on the table? If you’re up for a fun and delicious challenge, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities

- Reconcile digital conversion and campaign reporting with e-commerce and ERP revenue data to create a consistent view of performance.
- Establish consistent definitions and measurement approaches for key marketing, digital, customer, and growth metrics.
Understand the customer
- Analyze the full customer journey, from traffic source and onsite behavior through add-to-cart, purchase, repeat purchase, and long-term value.
- Build and analyze customer segments and cohorts based on behavior, spend, category mix, lifecycle stage to understand things like retention, frequency, and basket growth.
- Audit website behavior to identify opportunities to improve navigation, search, merchandising, promotions, conversion, and basket size.
- Support voice-of-customer and market intelligence initiatives, including NPS, customer surveys, and other ad hoc research.
Measure marketing and growth

- Connect activity to customer acquisition, incremental revenue, and retention wherever possible.
- Develop attribution and measurement approaches that help explain how onsite and offsite marketing activity contributes to business results.
· Report on performance of trade marketing programs (supporting existing farms and suppliers), from digital (social video, site ads, boosted web search, campaign inclusion, email etc) to offline (event inclusion)
- Monitor customer and business trends to proactively identify growth opportunities, anomalies, risks, and areas of lost or untapped revenue.
- Design and analyze A/B tests across web experiences, promotions, and messaging.
Turn data into action
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards that bring website, campaign, customer, product, order, and revenue performance into a common view.
