Mail Services & Shipping/Packaging Specialist

Job Description The core function of this role is to manage the facility’s internal mail‑service operations - receiving, sorting, and delivering all incoming and outgoing mail and small parcels to staff throughout the office. In addition, the incumbent will perform secondary packing and shipping tasks for outbound shipments, ensuring they meet MIL‑STD‑2073 and any classified‑material requirements. Key Duties

• Unload, sort, and log incoming mail and parcels.
• Deliver mail to designated workstations; obtain signatures or electronic acknowledgment.
• Prepare routine outgoing mail for courier pickup.
• Select the correct containers, cushioning, and sealing methods; pack items to meet MIL‑STD‑2073 and contract requirements.
• Apply bar‑codes, hazardous‑material labels, and shipping marks; complete packing lists and electronic shipment tickets.
• Load pallets, crates, or trailers and secure them per carrier guidelines.
• Safeguard classified material - maintain accountability logs and use approved containers.
• Track and replenish packing‑material inventory (boxes, stretch‑wrap, strapping, etc.).

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• High school diploma required.
• One year mail services or shipping experience
• Ability obtain and a Secret security clearance

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $45649 - $73038

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
