Original job description

Job Description Our employees work on the world’s most advanced electronics – from detecting threats for F-35 pilots to illuminating the night for soldiers. Spanning air, land, sea, and space, we are developing the technology of tomorrow, delivered today. Drawing strength from our differences, we’re innovating for the future. And you can, too. Our flexible work environment provides you a chance to change the world without giving up your personal life. We put our customers first – exemplified by our mission: “We Protect Those Who Protect Us®.” Sound like a team you want to be a part of? Come build your career with BAE Systems.

Our Operations employees turn innovative engineering designs into real solutions to meet our customers’ needs. From Supply Chain, to manufacturing and test, Electronic Systems offers opportunities to work with technology that is rarely accessible in other manufacturing firms. Our training and development programs provide employees with career advancement in a diverse work environment.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

Incident Management: Act as the primary point of contact for closed area support programs seeking technical assistance.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues involving Windows/Linux operating systems, Microsoft Office suite, domain connectivity, and peripheral hardware (printers, monitors, KVM’s).
User Support: Customer-facing tasks include triage IT related tickets directly assisting a team of IT personnel supporting internal customers, designing, implementing and managing lab infrastructure to meet project requirements.
Hardware/Software Support: Perform basic hardware/software installations, upgrades, and replacements (e.g., software application installs, OS upgrades, RAM upgrades, hard drive replacements, or deploying new desktops).
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all interactions and resolutions within the ticketing system to build a searchable knowledge base for the team.
Escalation: Identify issues that require advanced technical intervention and escalate them to Tier 2 or Tier 3 support teams with detailed diagnostic notes.

The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who can multitask and handle a face-paced environment and translate complex technical issues into understandable instructions for non-technical users. You should be customer service oriented, attentive to detail, self-motivated and work well in teams. Flexibility in approach to finding solutions, the ability to understand and act on the customer needs and priorities, and learn new technologies quickly are some of the qualities a successful candidate will have.

This role will require occasional off-hours responses to outages and an individual to take part in subsequent service restoration efforts.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Individuals in this role will need to be eligible to receive a security clearance within 3 months of hire date or have an active Secret clearance.
AS or BS degree in computer related fields
CompTIA Security+ Certification (must be able to obtain certification within 3 months)
Experience working at a Fast-Paced help desk, triage IT related tickets and priority requests
