ABOUT AWAY

At Away, we design for the reality of travel so you can embrace the journey in full. Launched in 2016 with one thoughtfully designed carry-on, we now offer luggage, accessories, and travel essentials through ecommerce, our retail stores, and wholesale partners. The magic of travel is mirrored in the work we do to bring Away to life, and we invite you to be part of crafting what’s next.

JOIN THE CREW

We’re hiring a Recruiting & Onboarding Associate Manager to join our People & Culture team. Reporting to the Associate Director, Talent Strategy & Employee Engagement, you’ll drive full-cycle recruiting and bring our corporate onboarding programming to life, creating an engaging, on-brand experience from a candidate’s very first conversation through their first day.

This is a hands-on role for a Recruiter who loves building people-centric experiences that enable exceptional talent to do their best work. You’ll manage day-to-day recruiting and help new hires feel prepared, connected, and ready to contribute to Away’s goals. In time, you’ll have opportunities to take on strategic projects across Talent Strategy, Recruiting Operations, and Onboarding Programming.

WHAT YOU’LL DO AS THE RECRUITING & ONBOARDING ASSOCIATE MANAGER

Recruiting

  • You’ll serve as a full-cycle recruiter for a variety of corporate positions, from sourcing through offer, connecting each team with excellent candidates who will take Away further
  • You’ll partner with hiring managers and P&C leadership to define role requirements, build interview plans, and lead debriefs that drive consistent and equitable hiring decisions
  • You’ll proactively source and engage talent, building diverse pipelines through creative outreach and ongoing candidate nurturing
  • You’ll champion Away’s candidate experience through thoughtful relationship building, clear communication, and seamless interview coordination, gathering candidate feedback to continuously refine our recruitment process.
  • You’ll manage day-to-day operations in Ashby, maintaining data integrity and using reporting to identify bottlenecks and propose workflow updates.
  • You’ll identify workflow improvements in recruiting operations, partnering with the broader team to test process enhancements and contribute to broader talent initiatives over time

Onboarding

  • You’ll own the day-to-day, tactical delivery of our HQ onboarding program, helping new hires feel prepared, welcomed, and connected from pre-boarding to day one
  • You’ll lead the first-day experience and coordinate pre-boarding communications, schedules, and materials so new hires know what to expect
  • You’ll partner with hiring managers, IT, Workplace, and the People team to coordinate setup, systems access, and onboarding logistics
  • You’ll support hiring managers to execute role-specific onboarding plans and 30/60/90-day milestones so new hires have clear priorities and expectations
  • You’ll maintain onboarding resources and learning materials, incorporating participant feedback to execute updates to onboarding SOPs and improve program delivery

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of full-cycle corporate recruiting experience, ideally in a fast-paced retail brand and/or consumer goods environment
  • You’re relentless in your search for great talent, bringing creativity and persistence to finding and engaging the right people for Away
  • You have experience using an ATS to manage pipelines, maintain accurate records, and use recruiting data to identify bottlenecks and guide next steps. Experience with Ashby beneficial, but not required
  • You’re excited to create thoughtful candidate and new hire experiences, and are comfortable leading orientations, facilitating conversations, and presenting to groups
  • You’re a thoughtful brand ambassador, bringing Away’s values and personality to life in every candidate and new hire interaction
  • You’re comfortable with Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom, and curious about how emerging technologies can improve how you work
  • You’re a clear, thoughtful communicator who builds trust with candidates, new hires, and partners across the business
  • You’re organized, attentive to detail, and able to balance competing priorities with a sense of urgency and care
  • You’re creative and innovative; you love to build great new things that are fresh and unique while staying on brand
  • You’re agile, and motivated by a fast-paced and ever changing environment
  • You’re passionate about transforming travel for all (but that’s a given!)

Excited to join the team, but not sure you meet all of the qualifications? Please apply, we’d still love to hear from you.

WHO WE ARE

  • We’re travelers. Travel is about the journey - the transformative experiences and the growth each trip offers. All employees are encouraged to take time to get away through our variety of time away from work offerings.
  • We’re driven. The work we do matters and collectively drives impact. No matter the job title, everyone at Away is a meaningful contributor in unlocking our ever growing potential.
  • We’re supportive. We value the entirety of your life's journey, not just the milestones. You'll find an environment that celebrates balance, understanding that your personal passions and commitments outside of work, are threads of the same fabric that makes you unique.

WHAT WE OFFER

Our total rewards are inclusive of both compensation and benefits. What we offer within a salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Away employees. Salary and benefit offerings are reviewed during phone screenings to ensure alignment.

  • Compensation: $80,000.00-$85,000.00
  • This role is eligible to participate in Away’s Annual Company Performance Incentive Bonus Plan, the terms of which are determined at the discretion of the company
  • Equity Grant: commensurate with level determined at the discretion of the company
  • Benefits Overview:
  • Take care of yourself and your family through our health insurance offerings
  • Invest in your future by participating in our 401(k) (with a company match!)
  • Find balance through our many paid time off programs (vacation, wellbeing, holidays, summer Fridays, and compassion leave - just to name a few!)
  • Build your travel uniform through discount codes, product stipends, and giveaways
  • Give back through company-sponsored volunteer and charitable opportunities
