Our client, an automotive manufacturer located in the Harwood Heights area, seeks an experienced building maintenance technician to work first shift (6AM-4:30PM).\ \ \ RESPONSIBILITIES\ Diagnose problems, repair, and replace parts, test and make adjustments.\ Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.\ Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.\ Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.\ Actively participates in Safety and continuous improvement initiatives.\ Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management.\ Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying to procedures, rules, and regulations.\ \

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS\

High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent\ Experience in BUILDING/FACILITY maintenance required at least 3 years; manufacturing environment preferred.\ Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC\ Demonstrates a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvement.\ Basic blueprint and schematic reading skills\ Ability to effectively work under minimal supervision.\ Must be flexible to both indoor and outdoor work.\ Certificate in one or more related fields is a plus.\ \ \ This is a temporary to permanent job opportunity through Away Staffing.
