Summary of Position:
AVIXA (Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association) is looking for a strategic, hands-on Senior Manager of Content Programming & Discovery to lead digital programming, content distribution, and audience growth. Reporting to the Vice President of Content Delivery, you will turn business priorities and audience insights into coordinated plans across AVIXA.org, newsletters, events, education, and related digital experiences. You will set standards, lead priority initiatives, and bring teams together around a shared goal: making AVIXA the industry’s first stop for knowledge. AVIXA is the trade association and professional society that serves the audiovisual industry worldwide. In a time where the way that we communicate and experience the world has undergone such a notable evolution, technology is more integrated globally than ever, and we’re here for it. Our vision is to serve as the first stop for knowledge where the industry connects, grows its knowledge and business, and finds inspiration. Our digital experiences are focused on reaching global audiences by creating and curating content that is useful, timely, and worth their attention. If that sounds like the kind of challenge you enjoy, we’d like you to help us raise the bar.
What will you do? You will turn AVIXA’s business strategy into an editorial plan that reflects industry developments, audience needs, and organizational priorities. That means watching the competitive landscape, finding where AVIXA can offer something distinctive, and setting clear priorities for coverage and distribution. You will also measure how content supports customer growth, tradeshow value, education, and digital engagement, and make thoughtful choices about covering trends without inadvertently amplifying competitors. You will own day-to-day editorial programming, optimization standards, and audience-intelligence workflows. For decisions involving enterprise priorities, budgets, platforms, or shared resources, you will partner with the Vice President of Content Delivery and the relevant functional leaders. Your experience in digital media, search, and audience development will help you build a disciplined discovery and audience-intelligence practice. Keyword research, search behavior, audience questions, performance data, and emerging topics will shape editorial priorities and help adjacent teams plan education and live-event programming. You will then put those insights to work across content optimization, metadata, newsletters, web programming, and distribution so AVIXA’s work is easier to find and more useful when audiences get there. A global mindset is essential because audience needs, search behavior, content preferences, and industry priorities vary by region. You will work with regional teams to make our editorial and distribution approach locally relevant while keeping it connected to AVIXA’s broader goals. You will also collaborate across Content Delivery, Marketing, Education, Market Intelligence, events, video, and digital product to connect plans and move good ideas forward. We’re looking for someone who can build trust, uphold clear editorial standards, and keep audience value at the center. Bonus points for experience with, or a passion for, the AV industry! Success in this role will be measured by the quality and consistency of programming plans, growth in qualified audience engagement and discoverability, effective use of audience and search insights, timely execution across priority channels, and the ability to drive adoption of shared standards and recommendations by partner teams. AVIXA is all-in on digital connection, and this role will help shape what comes next. You will have room to test better ways of using content, search, data, and digital programming, and the expectation that you will turn the strongest ideas into repeatable practices. You will work directly with partners across the organization, challenge us when there is a smarter approach, and help make AVIXA an essential industry resource.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead editorial strategy, content intelligence, and programming direction across AVIXA’s priority platforms, using analytics, search behavior, industry trends, competitive analysis and audience insights to inform what AVIXA covers, where it is published, and how it supports organizational goals
- Plan, publish, and optimize digital programming across AVIXA’s priority websites and channels, balancing audience engagement with business priorities. Use performance data, market trends, search demand, and opportunities to extend live content into digital storytelling; review results and adjust programming accordingly.
- Manage one staff member focused on community development and audience engagement, setting priorities and quality expectations, providing regular feedback and coaching, and coordinating workload and resources.
- Partner with the digital and live content production teams to translate audience insights, SEO and AEO research, competitive analysis and strategic priorities into actionable editorial briefs, content calendars, content themes, programming recommendations, and distribution guidance.
- Guide content optimization for discovery, usefulness, engagement, conversion paths, SEO, AEO and audience relevance across AVIXA’s ecosystem.
- Establish and manage the standards, tools, reporting cadence, and workflows for search, SEO, AEO, analytics, and audience intelligence, ensuring that insights are consistently applied to editorial planning, programming, newsletters, and distribution decisions.
- Apply insights and best practices internationally in regionally-relevant, cost-effective ways, with a particular focus on markets connected to AVIXA events.
- Serve as the content and discovery subject matter expert for the digital product team, providing requirements and recommendations on programming workflows, user experience, SEO, AEO, and cross-functional integrations that improve engagement with AVIXA’s content and platforms.
- Collaborate with social media, communications, and community teams to translate editorial priorities and audience insights across channels and identify opportunities for audience engagement and amplification.
- Identify, evaluate, and cultivate content-partnership opportunities with industry, event, and adjacent-market media organizations. Define the editorial value, audience benefit, and distribution expectations for each opportunity, then partner with the content production team to execute mutually valuable content-sharing and distribution initiatives.
- Represent AVIXA at occasional industry and association events, with primarily domestic and some globall travel as required.
