Original job description

About Avèro Advisors

Avèro Advisors is a fast-growing boutique management consulting firm that modernizes technology and business operations for state and local governments. We guide public-sector clients through high-stakes transformation initiatives spanning ERP modernization, permitting & licensing, budgeting, HR, data, and AI adoption. Our marquee clients include the Port of Portland (OR), Monroe County (NY), Santa Fe County (NM), Clackamas County (OR), Tarrant County (TX), and other forward-thinking governments across the United States.

Recognized for our exceptional momentum, Avèro has earned a place on the Inc. 5000 list for five consecutive years, reflecting our continued growth and commitment to excellence.

How We Work

Service-centric, not SaaS: We don’t sell software; we deliver expertise, clarity, and outcomes.
AI-accelerated: Our proprietary Vision & Velocity™ delivery framework embeds generative-AI accelerators, reusable automations, and data-driven insights into every phase of an engagement.
Runs on EOS®: Traction tools, quarterly Rocks, Scorecards, and Level-10 meetings ensure transparency, accountability, and consistent execution across the firm.

Our Ethos

Avèro stands as a beacon of innovation, driven by the purpose of making government interactions simpler through technology. We focus on enabling agencies to implement efficient, automated enterprise systems that improve service delivery and enhance the lives of citizens.

As a minority-owned, MBE/DBE-certified firm, we are deeply committed to diversity, inclusion, and expanding opportunity - within our company and the communities we serve.

What We Offer:

High Growth Opportunity: Avèro Advisors is on a remarkable growth trajectory. The right candidates will have the chance to move up quickly, taking on more significant responsibilities and shaping the future of the company.
Impactful Work: Make a real difference in how local governments serve their communities, improving the lives of citizens through technology.
Inclusive Culture: Join a team that values diversity, inclusion, and innovation. We believe in giving every idea a chance to shine and every team member the opportunity to grow.

Join Us:

At Avèro Advisors, we’re not just consultants - we’re change-makers. If you're driven to make a lasting impact and ready to accelerate your career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you. Together, we can redefine what’s possible for local governments and the communities they serve.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Maximo Consultant to join our Project Delivery team. Under the guidance of the Program Manager, you will own and execute the multiple critical work-streams within the overall system implementation and its associated integrations. This role demands strong project management skills, the ability to manage a team and budgets, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. It requires a focus on delivering results within defined timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Work-stream Ownership: Manage the detailed project plans, timelines, dependencies, budgets, and resource allocation for assigned work-stream(s) of the financial ERP implementation, ensuring alignment with the overall project plan.
Process Management: Collaborate with business process owners and functional leads to define requirements, map processes, and configure systems in your designated area(s).
Team Management: Lead and guide a team of business analysts and other project team members within your assigned work-stream(s).
Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify and manage risks within assigned work-streams. Escalate potential impact on the broader project to the Program Manager. Develop and implement solutions to keep your project components on track.
Partner Coordination: Where required, work with external partners to manage technical integrations and align on requirements.
Communication: Provide regular progress reports to the Program Manager, team members, and other project stakeholders.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation as per defined standards.
Testing and Validation: Participate in the development of test plans for assigned work-stream(s). Support execution of testing and UAT, ensuring issues are addressed.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of project management experience, including 3 - 5 years of hands-on IBM Maximo experience and a proven track record of leading full lifecycle implementations from planning through go-live and stabilization.
Domain Knowledge: Understanding of core ERP concepts and familiarity with work-stream areas like HR, payroll, or finance is desirable.
Certifications: PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at working with both technical and business teams.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
Location: Remote within the United States. Candidates must be willing and able to travel every other week as needed to support client engagements, project milestones, and team events.
