Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Are you a detail-oriented and reliable individual with strong mechanical skills and a passion for precision work? If so, this job is for you! A well-established company in the Hawarden area is seeking a Machinist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating machine tools, reading engineering drawings, and fabricating precision parts to meet specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate various machine tools, including lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders, selecting appropriate feeds and speeds
• Fabricate parts from raw stock using engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, sketches, and verbal instructions
• Work within close tolerances and create fixtures for machines as needed
• Use precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and ensure accuracy
• Perform hand operations, including filing, fitting, tapping, and other finishing tasks
• Perform preventative maintenance and lubrication on machines and equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow safety procedures and consistently use required safety devices when operating machinery
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of machine shop experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail, a solid work ethic, and good communication skills
• Proven mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and techniques
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand basic English
• Ability to work independently, stay motivated, and take initiative
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and sketches
• Advanced shop math skills and a broad understanding of machine shop practices
• Commitment to workplace safety and proper machine operation
