Job Summary
Aurex is seeking an Entry-Level Software Engineer and Analyst to provide software development, analysis, and modeling and simulation support across a range of engineering projects. The work includes missile defense, hypersonic defense development, agentic AI systems, and Unreal Engine-based simulation development.
We are looking for someone who can program in Python, think through technical problems, and work effectively with a team. This is a broad role with opportunities to develop software, analyze data, support simulations, and contribute to AI applications.
Assignments will reflect project needs and the individual’s skills, with guidance from experienced engineers, analysts, and software developers.
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. No previous professional experience or missile defense background is required. Relevant experience may come from coursework, research, internships, student projects, or personal projects. Prior experience with AI, Unreal Engine, or C++ is helpful but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain Python software, scripts, and tools that support engineering and analysis tasks.
- Process and analyze engineering and simulation data. Create plots, summaries, and comparisons that help the team understand results.
- Support modeling and simulation activities, including preparing inputs, running simulations, checking outputs, and investigating unexpected results.
- Contribute to the development, testing, and performance evaluation of AI applications and agentic AI systems.
- Support Unreal Engine-based simulation and visualization development, including software features, data interfaces, and testing.
- Work with engineers, analysts, and software developers to understand technical questions, investigate problems, and develop practical solutions.
- Document code, methods, assumptions, and findings. Participate in code reviews and communicate progress, questions, and results clearly.
- Learn new tools and technical subjects and contribute to varied software and analysis assignments as project needs evolve.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, data science, or a related technical field, completed or expected by the employment start date.
- Ability to write, debug, and test Python code, demonstrated through coursework, research, internships, personal projects, or other relevant work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to break a problem into manageable parts, interpret quantitative results, and check whether an answer makes sense.
- Interest in AI and in applying software to engineering, simulation, and analysis problems.
- Ability to work effectively with a team, ask useful questions, incorporate feedback, and communicate technical work clearly.
- Willingness to learn unfamiliar tools and technical subjects and follow through on assigned work.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in any of the following is helpful but not required:
- C++ programming.
- Using AI coding agents or assistants to develop, debug, test, or document software, including reviewing and verifying the resulting code.
- Unreal Engine or other simulation, visualization, or game development tools.
