Original job description
Job Description:
Step into a role as an X-Ray Tech specializing in radiology and cardiology, offering a chance to work in a busy operating room setting. This 13-week contract involves night shifts from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., where you’ll contribute to ortho, spine, and trauma cases at a Level 2 trauma center. The work involves performing a variety of imaging procedures, including extremities, abdomen, chest, and musculoskeletal scans, in both outpatient and inpatient environments. If you enjoy a mix of procedural imaging and the buzz of a procedural environment, this role is designed for you, with the opportunity to float to the OR and handle diverse cases with specialized equipment like C-Arms and fluoroscopy - without the monotony of fluoroscopy rotations. The hospital relies on EPIC for documentation, and your certification in ARRT, BLS, and NH state license will keep you prepared for a busy, rewarding schedule.
Weather:
The weather around this time of year is generally crisp and cool, with a mix of bright, sunny days and occasional gentle breezes. It’s a great time to enjoy the outdoor air after your shift or during a day off with comfortable temperatures that invite outdoor exploration.
Fun Things To Do:
- Mount Monadnock Hike: Take a day trip for a scenic hike up one of New Hampshire’s most famous peaks, offering panoramic views from the summit.
- Strawbery Banke Museum: Explore this historic waterfront neighborhood in nearby Portsmouth, with exhibits and activities that bring history to life.
- Portsmouth Harbor Cruise: Enjoy a relaxing boat tour to see the scenic coastline and maybe spot some local wildlife.
- Canterbury Shaker Village: Visit this beautifully preserved Shaker community with guided tours and hands-on crafts.
- Skiing or Snowboarding: Take a short trip to nearby ski areas offering winter sports fun after your workweek.
