Original job description

Job Description:

Join a step-down nursing team in Dayton for a 13-week travel contract on night shifts. You will care for patients with COPD, CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post-COVID conditions, and other complex medical needs. The unit supports patients requiring tracheostomies, ventilators, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and telemetry-monitored drips, including insulin, heparin, and Cardizem. The unit is trialing a team-nursing model in which two nurses and a patient care technician work together, with assignments potentially shifting between team and primary nursing. Travelers should be prepared to float to medically appropriate assignments within nearby specialty areas and work every other weekend and holiday.

Weather:

Expect crisp, cool conditions with a mix of bright days, cloudy skies, and occasional rain. Comfortable layers and a weather-ready jacket will help you enjoy time outdoors between shifts.

Fun Things To Do:

  • Local exploration: Visit Dayton’s museums, cultural attractions, and downtown dining spots.
  • Outdoor break: Enjoy walking trails, parks, and scenic green spaces in and around the city.
  • Day trip: Discover nearby communities for local shopping, dining, and seasonal events.
  • Day trip: Plan a scenic drive to surrounding parks and small towns for a change of pace.
  • Food and leisure: Sample local restaurants, cafés, and entertainment venues during time off.
