Original job description
Job Description:
Join a Richmond step-down team as a travel Registered Nurse caring for patients who need close monitoring and advanced acute-care support. You will manage cardiac drips, care for patients using BiPAP, CPAP, or high-flow oxygen, support post-cath recovery, manage chest tubes, and respond to complex conditions such as sepsis. Occasional bedside cardioversion may be performed with appropriate Cath Lab support.
This 12-hour night assignment offers exposure to a collaborative step-down setting with experienced nurses, current monitoring and infusion equipment, and strong relationships with the ICU and Cath Lab. Nurses may float to other step-down or medical-surgical units based on facility needs. ACLS and recent step-down experience with cardiac drips and advanced respiratory support are required.
Weather:
Richmond typically offers crisp, cool weather around this time of year, with comfortable daytime temperatures, cooler evenings, colorful foliage, and occasional rain. Layers and a light jacket are useful for exploring the city and nearby outdoor areas.
Fun Things To Do:
• Riverfront Exploration: Walk along the James River and visit the Canal Walk, overlooks, and nearby parks.
• Arts and History: Explore Richmond’s museums, galleries, historic neighborhoods, and public art.
• Food and Craft Beverage Tour: Sample local restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and lively market areas.
