Original job description

Job Description:

Join a 13-week travel contract as a PCU Float Registered Nurse in San Diego. You will provide care across progressive care, intermediate care, medical-surgical, and specialty units, with assignments spanning general medicine, surgical, neuro, oncology, cardiac, and orthopedic services. The role includes floating among four locations and may include emergency department inpatient overflow or a developing cardiology/neuro unit. Use your PCU experience, telemetry, IV start, phlebotomy, and arterial-line skills while working night shifts on a structured four-week schedule. Your assignment location will be confirmed by phone approximately two hours before each shift - an element of surprise built into the schedule.

Weather:

San Diego typically offers mild, comfortable conditions with plenty of sunshine, moderate daytime temperatures, and cooler evenings. Occasional rain may pass through, but outdoor plans are often easy to enjoy.

Fun Things To Do:

  • Balboa Park: Explore museums, gardens, architecture, and walking paths in the heart of San Diego.
  • La Jolla Cove: Enjoy coastal views, beaches, tide pools, and nearby marine life.
  • Joshua Tree National Park: Take a day trip for desert scenery, hiking, and stargazing.
  • Anza-Borrego Desert State Park: Spend a day exploring wide-open desert landscapes, trails, and seasonal wildflowers.
  • Coronado Island: Visit the beach, browse local shops, and enjoy views across the bay.
