Original job description
Job Description:
This 13-week travel assignment is designed for a registered nurse supporting a Level I trauma post-anesthesia care unit. You will recover surgical patients following general anesthesia and manage complex postoperative needs, including multiple drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, dysrhythmias, and patients transitioning from critical care. Surgical cases may include GU, GYN, colorectal, minimally invasive, bariatric, ENT, and interventional radiology procedures. The schedule follows rotating weekday start times, with 24 hours of call scheduled during each six-week period. A little PACU wisdom: expect every handoff to bring a new clinical puzzle.
Weather:
St. Louis typically offers crisp mornings, mild afternoons, colorful foliage, and comfortable conditions for exploring the city. Occasional rain and cooler evenings are possible, so light layers and a rain jacket are useful.
Fun Things To Do:
• Gateway Arch: Visit the iconic monument and enjoy panoramic views of the city and riverfront.
• Forest Park: Explore the zoo, art museum, history museum, and scenic walking paths.
• City Museum: Wander through the imaginative, hands-on art and architecture experience downtown.
• Day Trip - Hermann: Enjoy wineries, historic streets, and small-town scenery along the Missouri River.
• Day Trip - Cahokia Mounds: Visit the historic archaeological site just across the river in Illinois.
Job Specifics:
Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Shift: 10-hour rotating weekday shifts, typically starting at 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, or as assigned; 24 hours of call during each six-week period
Duration: 13 weeks, 40 hours per week
