Original job description
Job Description:
Support high-risk obstetric patients in Portland on a 13-week travel contract. You will provide care in Labor and Delivery while floating to Postpartum and High-Risk Antepartum based on unit needs. This assignment includes 12-hour shifts, alternating weekend coverage, on-call responsibility when a shift is canceled, and the possibility of floating to other units or facilities according to your skill set. A vehicle is required for this assignment. With a mix of day and night start times, this role keeps each shift focused and purposeful - no two deliveries are exactly alike.
Weather:
Portland typically offers cool temperatures, overcast skies, and frequent light rain around this time of year. Comfortable layers and a reliable rain jacket are useful, while occasional clear days provide a pleasant chance to explore the city and surrounding areas.
Fun Things To Do:
• City Exploring: Visit Powell’s City of Books, browse local shops, and enjoy the food scene in downtown Portland.
• Outdoor Escape: Walk through Washington Park, including the International Rose Test Garden and Hoyt Arboretum.
• Day Trip - Columbia River Gorge: Explore scenic viewpoints, waterfalls, and hiking trails along the historic gorge.
• Day Trip - Oregon Coast: Head to Cannon Beach for coastal views, sandy beaches, and Haystack Rock.
• Day Trip - Mount Hood: Enjoy mountain scenery, outdoor recreation, and small-town stops along the way.
