Job Description:

This 13-week travel contract places emergency room (ER) nurses at a busy Level 2 trauma center in Long Beach, California. With a focus on critical and trauma care, you’ll work 12-hour day shifts caring for a diverse patient population, including adults and pediatrics, often dealing with low socioeconomic challenges and substance-related cases. The role involves managing a patient load that can reach up to 160 patients daily, performing lab draws, interpreting EKGs, and providing acute care for a variety of diagnoses, from minor complaints to major trauma. Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll collaborate with a team of physicians, midlevels, and support staff, including emergency medical aides and patient sitters. The assignment offers an engaging opportunity to sharpen critical skills in a real-world setting while experiencing the vibrant and culturally rich city of Long Beach. Please note, flexibility to work two of the major holidays is required, and certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS is necessary.
