Original job description
Job Description:
This travel emergency department contract is designed for an experienced registered nurse who is comfortable caring for patients with a wide range of urgent and critical needs during 12-hour night shifts. You will use emergency nursing expertise, sound clinical judgment, and strong problem-solving skills while working with EPIC. The schedule includes every third weekend, and you may float within your skill set or to another site within 40 miles when needed. Prior travel experience is preferred, and ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications are required. The assignment offers an opportunity to experience emergency nursing in southeastern Wisconsin while exploring the area between shifts.
Weather:
Expect crisp, cool conditions with comfortable daytime temperatures, chilly evenings, colorful foliage, and occasional rain. The changing scenery makes for pleasant drives and refreshing outdoor outings, so a light jacket and layers are useful.
Fun Things To Do:
- Franklin Nature Park: Enjoy walking trails, open green spaces, and a peaceful break close to town.
- Milwaukee Day Trip: Explore the lakefront, public market, museums, breweries, and downtown attractions.
- Lake Geneva Day Trip: Stroll along the waterfront, browse local shops, and take in scenic resort-town views.
- Madison Day Trip: Visit the State Capitol area, enjoy local restaurants, and explore lakeside paths.
- Whitnall Park: Walk through gardens, wooded trails, and outdoor spaces in the greater Franklin area.
Job Specifics:
City and State: Franklin, Wisconsin
Shift: 12-hour nights
Duration: 36 hours per week for 13 weeks
