Job Description
Take your emergency nursing experience to Gilbert, Arizona, for a 13-week travel contract in a busy emergency department. This role is suited for an experienced ER nurse who is comfortable caring for patients with trauma, stroke, cardiac emergencies, high-risk obstetric needs, behavioral health holds, and pediatric emergencies requiring stabilization and transfer. You may also support cardioversions and conscious sedation for procedures such as fracture reductions.
The assignment includes 12-hour day or mid shifts, with start times ranging from early morning through early afternoon. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, along with two of three designated holidays during the holiday season. Travelers may float between emergency departments in Gilbert and Chandler, approximately seven miles apart, so flexibility is important. Required qualifications include at least two years of ER or trauma experience, BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and moderate conscious sedation competency. A dysrhythmia exam and simulation lab assessment are part of onboarding.
Weather
Gilbert typically offers sunny, dry weather around this time of year, with comfortably warm daytime temperatures and cooler evenings. Rainfall is generally limited, making it easy to enjoy outdoor activities between shifts.
