Job Description
Join a 13-week travel contract as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse in Peoria, Illinois. Working 12-hour night shifts, you will care for a broad range of emergency cases, from minor complaints to critically ill adults and children, cardiac events, strokes, and stabilized trauma patients. The role calls for confident emergency nursing skills, including recognizing urgent cardiac rhythms, managing and titrating critical drips, responding to changing patient conditions, and supporting emergency procedures. This Level 1 trauma setting offers a varied assignment where no two nights follow the same script.
Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, and TNCC or TNS. Prior emergency nursing experience is expected, with travel experience preferred. Nurses may work every other weekend and holiday scheduling may be required according to department needs. There is no call requirement for travelers.
Weather
Peoria generally offers crisp, comfortable weather around this time of year, with cool temperatures, refreshing air, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities between shifts. Conditions can vary, so a light jacket and flexible layers are useful.
