Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician (MT) is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility property according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support and achieve the business goals and objectives of Assistance Plus. The MT will perform routine work under limited supervision by complying with OSHA safety and health rules. This position will conduct work at all of our locations (Benton, Winslow, Waterville, Augusta, and Wilton).

Because the Maintenance Technician will occasionally run errands on behalf of the Agency, proof of vehicle insurance at $50K/$100K and a valid Maine driver’s license is required.

This is a full-time (40-hour per week) position.

Qualifications

Duties include and are not limited to:

• Performing routine maintenance on building interior and exterior
• Maintaining a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when the next service is due
• Working in a safe manner and recognizing unsafe situations, taking appropriate action to ensure safety of self and others
• Performing highly diversified duties to install and maintain agency properties
• Performing landscaping and perpetual ground work
• Performing general carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall, hardware, and other general building repairs
• Using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Detecting faulty operations and/or defective material and reporting those and any unusual situations to the appropriate supervisor
• Complying with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas
• Performing other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the Maintenance Technician is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

Position Requirements:

• Proof of vehicle insurance at $50K/$100K and a valid Maine drivers license are required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of maintenance work is required.
• Intermediate level computer experience
