Original job description

ABOUT ASSEMBLED

Assembled helps companies scale great customer support. As consumers, we’ve all been there. You need help, you’re stuck on hold or going in circles with an AI, and your problem still isn’t solved.

Behind great support is a complex operational problem: thousands of people and AI agents working across teams, time zones, and products as new problems emerge. Assembled gives support leaders the tools to manage that complexity, from AI agents that resolve customer issues to software that forecasts demand, builds schedules, and makes intraday adjustments.

More than 400 companies, including DoorDash, Salesforce, Stripe, and Sephora, trust Assembled https://www.assembled.com/customers. We've raised $71M from NEA, Emergence Capital, Stripe, and Basis Set Ventures and have offices in San Francisco, New York, and London.

THE ROLE

We're seeking a Enterprise Sales Engineer to help us capture the massive opportunity emerging in support operations. This is an early-stage team role offering significant autonomy and outsized impact. You'll play a crucial part in shaping how we position and sell Assembled, the platform that unifies workforce management with AI agents, helping support teams orchestrate human staff, BPOs, and AI across chat, email, and voice in one system.

The best sales engineers have a solution mindset. They figure out how to solve problems and debottleneck. Most SE roles end at the demo; ours doesn't. When you hit a product gap mid-deal, you're empowered to ship the feature the customer needs, working across product, engineering, and sales as a true cross-functional player.

We’re in-person 5 days a week from our bright, airy offices in the Mission in San Francisco and Chelsea Market in New York.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN:

Drive opportunities from technical discovery through closure, partnering closely with AEs to translate complex requirements into clear, compelling solutions leveraging Assembled's platform.
Design and execute technical evaluations, proofs of concept (POCs), and custom demos that showcase how Assembled uniquely solves customer challenges.
Own responses to RFPs/RFIs and security questionnaires, transforming these into strategic advantages that highlight our product strengths and readiness.
Become an expert in workforce management (WFM) and support operations, proactively anticipating customer needs and demonstrating thought leadership.
Build internal tools, scalable demos, and enablement resources that uplift the entire sales organization.
Consistently achieve ambitious quarterly targets in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

3-5 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Solutions Architect, ideally within SaaS.
Strong technical background; comfort with APIs, cloud services (especially AWS), integrations, and web technologies.
Demonstrated ability to thrive independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Proven track record of closing complex technical deals and consistently achieving sales targets.
Exceptional communication skills, able to simplify and effectively present complex concepts to both technical stakeholders and executive buyers.

BONUS POINTS FOR:

Direct experience in workforce management, contact center operations, or customer support technologies.
Hands-on coding ability - we love scrappy problem-solvers who can prototype solutions quickly.
Startup or high-growth company experience, comfortable wearing multiple hats and rapidly adapting to change.

OUR U.S. BENEFITS

Generous medical, dental, and vision benefits
Paid company holidays, sick time, and unlimited time off
Monthly credits to spend on each: professional development, general wellness, Assembled customers, and commuting
Paid parental leave
Catered lunches every day (M-F) and fully stocked kitchen
401(k) plan enrollment

This role comes with competitive compensation (base + commission), equity in a high-growth company, and the opportunity to significantly influence a rapidly expanding market. If you're ready for impactful work with freedom to innovate and execute, we'd love to connect.

We know great candidates don’t always meet every requirement listed in a job description. If the role excites you and you believe you can make an impact at Assembled, we encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and are committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels like they belong and has the opportunity to do their best work. We look forward to hearing from you!

For United States Applicants:

Assembled participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.

For United Kingdom Applicants:

Assembled is required to verify your right to work in the UK and will conduct a Right to Work check prior to employment in accordance with applicable law.
