Rigger Laborer

The Rigging Laborer supports safe and efficient movement, lifting, and installation of heavy equipment, machinery, and large items during commercial moves and relocations. Under the guidance of experienced riggers, this role helps prepare, secure, and operate rigging gear to ensure compliance with safety standards and project timelines. We will train the right person!!!

Primary Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Assist with setting up, inspecting, and dismantling rigging equipment, including hoists, slings, ropes, chains, pulleys, and dollies.
• Help position and secure loads for lifting, moving, or installation.
• Support the Lead Rigger in calculating load weights and ensuring balanced, safe lifts.
• Prepare work areas by clearing obstacles and laying protective floor coverings when required.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks or trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling.
• Maintain rigging gear and tools and report any damage or defects.
• Follow all workplace safety protocols, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Work collaboratively with movers, drivers, and other crew members to complete jobs efficiently.
• Provide general labor support, including lifting, carrying, and staging equipment.

Skills/Qualifications/Education/Certifications/Licensure: (required/preferred)

• Basic understanding of rigging principles and lifting techniques preferred but will train
• Strong physical stamina and the ability to safely lift and carry heavy items.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under minimal supervision.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools.
• Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• OSHA 10 (preferred)
• Forklift experience or certification; pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies
• Prior experience in moving, rigging, or construction is advantageous but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (may be required for certain projects).
• Ability to pass a background check and/or drug screening (as required by employer).

Work Environment/Physical Requirements: (example: must be able to lift up to 50 pounds) Work is primarily on-site at commercial facilities, warehouses, or customer locations.

• Exposure to outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
• Frequent bending, lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
• May involve early starts, late finishes, or weekend work depending on project schedules
