Job Description
The Sterile Processing Tech, Central Sterile Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored. The role involves adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards while collaborating with medical teams to provide essential support in surgical settings.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment following established protocols.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain organized storage of sterilized items.
- Assist in the assembly and preparation of instrument trays for surgical procedures.
- Monitor the sterilization process and perform routine maintenance on sterilization equipment.
- Adhere to safety and infection control standards to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
Required Experience
- Prior experience in sterile processing or a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of sterilization procedures and infection control practices.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current certification in sterile processing or completion of a sterile processing technician program is required.
