Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of medical and surgical instruments, as well as ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene protocols in the processing area. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to work within established procedural guidelines to maintain a sterile environment for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and related equipment.
• Ensure compliance with sterilization standards and infection control policies.
• Monitor and operate sterilization equipment.
• Conduct routine quality control checks on sterilized items.
• Label and store sterilized instruments correctly.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to understand equipment needs and provide timely service.

Qualifications, Experience, Certifications, and Licensure

Required Experience: Current certification in Sterile Processing.

Certifications/Licensure: Must have a valid Sterile Processing Technician certification.
