Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of sterile supplies within an acute care setting. This position requires adherence to strict protocols to ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are appropriately processed and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilized, and stored according to established protocols.
• Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols when handling sterile instruments.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment status.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure timely availability of instruments for procedures.

Required Experience

• Previous experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute care setting.
• Completion of prior traveler assignments is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current certification with the California Board of Sterile Processing (CBSPD), Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or equivalent is desired.
• Current CPR certification is required.
