Operating Room First Assistant - Cardiac Experience Required

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

4x10 Hour Shifts (06:45 - 17:15) with on-call duties. An alternate schedule of 3x12s (06:45 - 19:15) is also available.

Job Description

The Operating Room First Assistant plays a crucial role in cardiac procedures, providing assistance to the surgical team. This position requires extensive experience and proficiency in vein and radial artery harvesting, as well as a commitment to patient care in a dynamic surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures, specifically in cardiac and thoracic cases.
• Perform vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting with precision.
• Be available for on-call shifts as scheduled.
• Contribute to a team approach in the operating room.
• Maintain high standards of sterile technique and patient safety.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3-5 years of experience as a First Assistant in surgical procedures, specifically in cardiac surgery.
• Current certifications: NBSTSA, NCCSA, or ABSA.
• Preferred experience with robotic-assisted surgeries.
• Active West Virginia license or pending application accepted.
