Job Description
The Sterile Processing Tech will support the Sterile Processing Department within Surgical Services at the Honickman Center. Responsibilities include decontamination, aseptic technique, case cart preparation, and sterilization processes. The position requires experience with various instrumentation across multiple specialties.
Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination duties using chemical agents and disinfectants.
- Execute manual cleaning, ultrasonic cleaning, and operate washers/sterilizers.
- Prepare case carts and loaner trays, ensuring proper organization and labeling.
- Process flexible endoscopes (e.g., bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, cystoscopes).
- Conduct biological and chemical indicator testing, and steam sterilization monitoring.
Required Experience
- 5 years of Sterile Processing experience in an acute hospital and ambulatory surgery center.
- Experience in Level I and Level II trauma settings.
- Decontamination experience is required.
- Experience with aseptic technique and proper sterilization procedures is essential.
Certifications/Licensure
- CBSPD certification is required.
- IAHCSMM or HSPA certification is also required.
