Schedule/Shift
5x8s, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Rotating weekends and at least once every two months on-call duty from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekends.
Job Description
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping of surgical instruments. This role involves scope reprocessing and requires experience with sterilization techniques. Ideal candidates will have familiarity with a variety of cases, including neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN.
Responsibilities
- Ensure sterile processing and proper decontamination of surgical instruments.
- Assemble and wrap instrument sets for surgical procedures.
- Perform scope reprocessing in compliance with facility standards.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes.
- Assist with inventory management and supply ordering as needed.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing, including sterilization and decontamination.
- Experience with scope reprocessing.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current national certification from CBSPD and/or HSPA required.
- BLS certification is not required.
