Day shift hours are from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

The MedSurg unit is a 34-bed facility that provides care for patients requiring a stepdown level of service, as well as those admitted to the floor. The Registered Nurse will work closely with a team that typically includes a Charge Nurse and a Transport RN during peak hours. Nursing aides are also available, running with a ratio of 2-5 certified nursing assistants on the unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring patients, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to provide quality care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions effectively.
• Administer medications and IV therapies as required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient care planning.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips accurately.
• Titrate drips and manage ventilator settings as needed.

Required Experience

Previous experience in a MedSurg or Stepdown unit is preferred, with specific competencies in telemetry and patient care management.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification may be preferred based on the unit's specific protocols.
• Current RN license to practice in West Virginia is required.
