Job Description

The surgical PCU unit at Methodist Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care. You will become an integral part of our team focused on patient-centric care in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients undergoing various surgical procedures, including tracheostomy, bowel resections, and pulmonary surgeries.
• Monitor patient recovery and manage post-operative care such as JP drains and chest tubes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient evaluation and management.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols and maintain accurate patient documentation.
• Administer medications and assist with routine procedures using telemetry and monitoring equipment.

Required Experience

• Strong time management and critical thinking skills.
• Preferred experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or similar setting.

Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Active RN license in the state of Texas.
