Job Description

Join a fast-paced and challenging cardiac unit at a center for excellence, specializing in high acuity progressive/intermediate care for patients. The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides critical care management for patients post catheterization, heart surgery, and other complex cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide optimal nursing care to patients in the PCU.
• Monitor patient vitals and administer medications.
• Assist in post-cath care for right & left heart caths, TAVRs, and other cardiac interventions.
• Manage chest tubes and assist in the care of patients recovering from thoracic surgery.
• Conduct neurovascular checks and manage post-operative care for vascular surgeries.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of current acute care PCU hospital experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Preferred experience in chest tube management, pacer wire removal, and 12 lead EKG management.
• Experience with O2 management up to BiPAP and heated high flow.
• Ability to manage IV medications including heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and more.
